To equip the members of Woodmont Baptist Church to make disciples using curriculum that is based in the Word of God, focused on Scripture memory, and leads to multiplication.

Vision

What is a Discipleship Group?

  • What is the difference between Bible Study Connections, Extra Connections, and D Groups?

    Bible Study Connections classes are Woodmont’s former Sunday School Ministry and are classes that meet on Sunday mornings at 9:00am and are open groups that can be gender-specific or co-ed.


    Extra Connections are multigenerational topical classes that are scheduled throughout the week and are open groups that are mostly gender-specific and mostly meet on Wednesday nights at 6:00pm  


    (D-Groups) are groups that gender-specific, closed groups of 3-5 individuals who meet throughout the week. D-Groups are intentionally closed due to the commitment and intentionality of these individuals walking and growing together through the study, memorization, and application of the Bible.

  • What is the structure of Discipleship Groups (D Groups)?

    D-Groups are gender-specific groups that consists of 3-5 individuals who are intentional to walk together through the study, memorization, and application of the Bible. 

  • What is the discipleship pathway at Woodmont?

    We want to move individuals down the discipleship pathway at Woodmont for their spiritual formation in helping them become mature believers who are following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and committed to the mission of Jesus. 


    The pathway moves from Explore (Worship service) to Connect (Bible Study Connections classes) to Grow (Discipleship Groups) and finally, to Multiply (multiplying groups).

  • How do I start a D-Group?

    You can start a D-Group at Woodmont in a couple of ways: 1) Fill out the “Leaders Form” on this page of the website, or 2) By emailing Tyler Wilson at twilson@woodmontbaptist.org. 

    We will then contact you and set up training for you in discipleship and how to lead a D-Group.

  • What curriculum is recommended for D-Groups?

    We recommend one of these 4 curriculums for D-Groups: Every Man a Warrior by Lonnie Berger, Grow Series by Craig Etheredge, Foundations 260 by Robbie Gallaty, and Cultivating Holy Beauty by Jessica Sky North.

  • Does every person in my group have to be a member of Woodmont?

    Not at all! Part of our mission in discipleship is multiplication, this partners with our overall mission at Woodmont to make disciples of Jesus Christ from all generations who will make disciples of all nations in all generations for God’s glory. To do this, we must reach outside our church walls for God’s Kingdom and glory.

  • How much are the books for D-Groups?

    Books are $10 a piece with scholarships available.
